■520    ▼aThis  study  will  focus  on  developing  Short  Term  Biblical  Caregiving  Leadership  Training  for  the  Gardena  Korean  Christian  Church  (GKCC).  This  study  will  also  find  the  need  of  the  short  term  leadership  training  in  this  fast  change  society  ever  in  its  view  of  value  and  point  of  worldview  as  a  Korean  American  church.
■520    ▼aThe  purpose  of  this  Ministry  Focus  Paper  is  to  develop  Caregiving  Leadership  and  its  theology  for  GKCC  in  light  of  its  historical  and  socio-cultural  identity.  Through  this  leadership  training  program  I  want  to  accomplish  an  immediate  and  crucial  task  which  is  beneficial  for  the  congregation  to  grow  as  a  caring  community  who  is  wounded,  not  necessarily  in  a  sense  of  physical  condition,  but  of  spiritual  and  emotional  warfare  in  their  new  rough  life  in  new  land,  leaving  their  soil  of  home  land.
■520    ▼aMy  people  are  thrown  off  balance  by  ensuing  events  and  they  are  experiencing  a  crisis:  The  loss  of  a  job,  the  loss  of  face,  the  loss  of  loving  one,  the  news  of  his  own  terminal  illness,  discovering  his  child  on  drug  and  drop  from  high  school,  a  killed  father  who  works  in  a  liquor  store,  spouse  of  chronically  depressed,  daily  disadvantages  due  to  language  barriers—the  list  goes  on.  The  church  needs  trained  advice  and  biblical  principles  for  dealing  with  these  kind  of  crisis  situations  for  a  renewal  from  the  losses.
■520    ▼aCaregiving  Leadership  will  help  each  of  us  to  live  as  a  wounded  lover.  My  people  will  be  healing  while  they  are  healing  others.  Moreover,  I  predict  that  soon  we  will  face  the  “future  shock”  as  the  new  millennium  dawns  before  us.  Time  changes,  and  we  are  at  the  very  edge  of  technological,  demographic,  and  methodological  change  which  means  more  challenges.  An  individual  church  growth  stories  should  include  the  healing  process  from  the  crisis  surrounding  us.
■520    ▼aThe  strategy  for  the  Caregiving  Leadership  Program  is  to  see  a  Short  Term  Biblical  Leadership  Program  as  a  key  to  healthy  revitalization  of  caring  community  in  relation  to  its  cultural  identity.
■520    ▼aHoping  that  GKCC  will  be  able  to  accept  the  reality  of  the  losses  of  life  and  to  move  on  to  reinvest  ourselves  into  new  dream  of  plans,  I  pray  that  God  grants  grace.
