초록/해제
요약 : The efforts of modern theology to salvage the Lord's Supper as something we do, often at the risk of forfeiting the sacrament itself, can be redeemed after all, if our sacramental doing is recognized for what it is, an active receiving, yet a receiving that is decidedly consequential, both in history and beyond.
초록/해제
요약 : This dissertation proposes a fresh, but not new, view of the human action within the Lord's Supper for ecumenical agreement. This human doing in the Holy Supper is to receive (take, accept). This receiving is not passive, as a waste-receptacle receives what is thrown into it, but is a conscious, deliberate, very personal taking-even bodily. This personal taking corresponds to the Lord's very personal giving in his Supper: of himself (body included), his righteousness and life.
초록/해제
요약 : Works of Martin Luther on justification and on the sacrament are called upon to show how such active human participation in receiving forgiveness is possible within Lutheran theology. NT passages are examined to show how people receive actively in three events: hearing the Gospel (Romans 9:6-10:10), baptism (1 Peter 3:21) and the Lord's Supper (1 Cor. 10: 1–22 and 11:17-34). Bonhoeffer's analyses of confessing the faith show how confessing, though reputed to be activist, is primarily receptive, just as partaking in the Eucharist is an active receiving, though apparently passive.
초록/해제
요약 : That participants in the Holy Communion receive actively is proposed for ecumenical agreement thus. Twelve prominent 20th century theologies of the Eucharist (Orthodox, Catholic, Protestant and Lutheran) are loosely grouped into five types of explanations of how the sacrament mediates its benefits to participants (as a sign for remembrance; as an existential confrontation with Christ's self-sacrifice; as fellowship with Christ; as a sacrifice the church offers; as a meal that, eaten, gives salvation). This dissertation's view is correlated with the concerns that drive the five types, which are adequately answered in this proposal, sometimes even better, while the weaknesses of those theologies are avoided.
초록/해제
요약 : On this basis, the view of the human participation in the Lord's Supper as one of active receiving is proposed as a point for long-awaited ecumenical agreement.
