초록/해제
요약 : John Calvin recognized the function of preaching as a means of grace in the liturgy of the Middle Ages with the acknowledgement that preaching was a sacramental event, because it represented the substance of God and the mystery of divineness. The Word of God ontologically functioned to seal Baptism and the Eucharist and to witness the ministry of Christ, which is manifested through the Sacraments. The revelation of God, for Calvin, never occurred without the Word, and the preaching event presented God's saving power in addition to its means of teaching.
초록/해제
요약 : Korean preaching, specifically between 1884 and 1945, predominantly revealed itself as didactic and catechetical. In the beginning of the Korean Protestant mission era, the role of preaching was one of introducing and educating a people who had been accustomed solely to Confucianism, Buddhism, and Shamanism. In the midst of an anti-Sacramental culture, preaching evolved as the centrality of the Christian worship service, and determined the fate of ministry. Preaching not only functioned to mold and solidify the faith of a people, but it also served as a vehicle of hope amidst a despairing nation in a period of political decay.
초록/해제
요약 : Just as Calvin awakened the ignorance of the Church during the Reformation by his preaching, the understanding of preaching as a sacramental sign makes the preacher, the celebrant of the Word, to be faithful to the Word and free from the result of the preaching due to the understanding of the Spirit. As long as the preacher explores the mystery and divineness of the sacramental sign, the Holy Spirit actively manifests the power of the sacraments and transforms the hearts of the hearers.
