요약 : The purpose of this dissertation is to examine sixteenth-century Anabaptist evangelism from historical, doctrinal, and practical perspectives. The Anabaptist Reformation arose out of Ulrich Zwingli's Bible study group. The Anabaptists who sought to live under the Lordship of Christ expanded from Zurich to various areas of Europe in a short duration. They laid a biblical foundation for their beliefs and practices, and established churches based on New Testament principles. In order to carry out the Great Commission of Christ, the Anabaptists focused on making disciples through small groups which resulted in dynamic lay mobilization in ministry and evangelism.

요약 : The basic sources used in this dissertation include primary sources of prominent Anabaptist writings such as Sieben Artikel von Schlatt, The Chronicle of Hutterian Brethren, and The Complete Writings of Menno Simons for the in-depth study of Anabaptist doctrines and practices. The documents of the Council of Trent are referenced for the sixteenth-century Roman Catholic doctrines, and the works of Martin Luther and John Calvin's Institution de la Religion Chrestienne are used for magisterial reformers' views of major doctrines. Writings of subsequent scholarship on the subject also contributed to the further study of Anabaptist evangelism.

The second chapter illustrates major Anabaptist doctrines that impacted evangelism. The third chapter investigates Anabaptist strategy of evangelism by making disciples of Christ, especially through small groups. Their focus on establishing a New Testament church resulted in healthy congregations and dynamic evangelism. The fourth chapter focuses on revealing the causes of Anabaptist decline in the seventeenth century. The last chapter addresses the contributions and possible applications of Anabaptist evangelism from historical, doctrinal, and practical perspectives.
초록/해제
요약 : The Anabaptist Reformation was a movement designed to restore the New Testament Church in order to carry out the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. The Anabaptist strategy of making disciples through small groups realized the mobilization of the lay people in ministry and evangelism. The Anabaptist spirit of nachfolge Christi needs to be applied to Christians today. The implementing of the Anabaptist strategy of evangelism can bring another Reformation in this century.
