초록/해제
요약 : This dissertation examines the effect of the use of scripture on the interpretation of the Markan passion narrative. It considers in detail the trial and crucifixion scenes (Mark 14:53-15:39).
초록/해제
요약 : Chapter 1 presents starting points for the research, including an overview of the scholarship on which this study depends and to which it contributes. It also lists the specific goals and limitations of the study.

요약 : Chapter 2 presents the methodology in detail, focusing on the precise definition of the term allusion and the criteria by which allusions are established. In short, an allusion is a connection between two written passages which is suggested by verbal and thematic correspondence between the texts. Not included in the category of allusion are textual connections made by the reader without evidence that the texts were connected by the author.
초록/해제
요약 : Chapter 3 tests allusions suggested by previous scholars. Of roughly 150 suggestions, only eleven references have sufficient verbal and other correspondence to be considered probable or certain allusions. They are: (1)Mark 14:55/Ps 37:32; (2)Mark 14:56-57/Exod 20:16; (3)Mark 14:61/Isa 36:21; (4)Mark 14:62/Dan 7:13 and Ps 110:1; (5)Mark 14:65/Isa 50:6; (6)Mark 15:24/Ps 22:19; (7)Mark 15:29-30/Ps 22:8-9; (8)Mark 15:33/Amos 8:9-10; (9)Mark 15:34/Ps 22:2; (10)Mark 15:36/Ps 69:22.
초록/해제
요약 : Chapters 4-5 assess the interpretive impact of those allusions on the Markan passion narrative. Chapter 4 deals with Jesus' answer to the High Priest in 14:62. Chapter 5 deals with the remaining allusions and draws out the cumulative effect of the allusions. These chapters show that allusions interpret the Markan christology, but they also interpret other aspects of the drama, such as the opponents in the Jewish trial and the offer of vinegary wine. More importantly, Mark does not say, as do other New Testament writers, that Jesus died for our sins nevertheless Jesus' death is considered redemptive. The allusions provide clues to the meaning or nature of that redemption in Mark.
