초록/해제
요약 : The purpose of this Ministry Focus Paper is to present a theological and Biblical understanding of the Spiritual Gifts and an appropriate methodology for their nurture among church members for effective witness and ministry of the members of St. Thomas' Church, Sheffield, England. It includes the process necessary to implement these changes necessary to suit present as well as the future needs of the church.
초록/해제
요약 : St. Thomas' is a joint Anglican Baptist Church, which is recognised as a city church as well as having a parish emphasis. It has a worshipping community of twenty-five hundred of which 85% are under the age of forty years. It is unique in that, the membership also includes those of the Builder and Boomer generations, who all play their part in the life of the church.
초록/해제
요약 : This paper will be divided into three sections. The first section will describe how, the ecumenical dimension came into being and how it has enriched the life of over seventy churches in the Community, the City, as well as overseas, by becoming a resource centre using the model of the Ephesus church described in Acts 19. The second chapter will argue that the effectiveness of the church's mission has been possible by mobilising all the members, using Small Groups as a primary unit, in a way, which differs from the Cell Church model. The leadership style necessary to direct and mobilise these resources has depended upon strong and authoritative leadership and will be contrasted and measured against scriptural principles.
초록/해제
요약 : The second section will examine the way in which the charismata, is interpreted by St. Thomas' as a means of equipping its members, and is argued from the base that all the Gifts of the Holy Spirit are operative today. The Christendom interpretation, of Ephesians 4, cites these gifts as offices in the church. An alternative viewpoint will be offered, which interprets these gifts given to the body as a whole, regardless of status, gender or authority, enabling members to be a true expression of God's missionary people.
초록/해제
요약 : The third section will consider the framework, which addresses the methodology of determining the ministry of each member as interpreted by the list of gifts given in Ephesians 4, and that they represent the temperament and characteristics of five types of people who comprise the membership of any church. It also discusses the implications of what seems to contradict traditional leadership and institutional ecclesiology when such methods are used.
초록/해제
요약 : The goal of this paper is to provide afresh theological and biblical approach to enable churches realise the potential that exists within any fellowship to create and make disciples become mature in their faith, using the gifts, which God has bestowed upon them through the Holy Spirit. The paper is offered in the hope the methods used at St. Thomas', when adapted to any local church, regardless of its tradition, or denominational affiliation, can facilitate healthy growth and advancement of the Kingdom.
