■520    ▼aThis  dissertation  inquires  into  the  relationship  between  a  narrative  approach  to  Christian  ethics  and  the  practice  of  spiritual  discernment  by  which  the  church  chooses  persons  to  serve  as  ordained  moral  and  religious  leaders.  The  dissertation  argues  that  narrative  ethics  provides  the  best  approach  in  the  field  of  contemporary  ethics  for  conceptualizing  the  church's  practice  of  spiritual  discernment.
