■520    ▼aThe  first  chapter  introduces  the  research,  including  the  research  idea  and  the  influence  of  Transforming  Mission  and  the  CBF.  This  chapter  poses  a  primary  research  question  and  several  secondary  research  questions.  The  primary  research  question  is,  does  the  CBF  manifest  the  elements  of  Bosch's  postmodern  paradigm  of  missiology?  Secondary  questions  include:  (1)  What  is  Bosch's  postmodern  paradigm  of  missiology?  (2)  What  theological  and  missiological  elements  of  Bosch's  paradigm  have  or  have  not  surfaced  in  the  CBF?  (3)  Have  enough  elements  of  Bosch's  paradigm  surfaced  in  the  CBF  to  qualify  it  as  example  of  Bosch's  paradigm?  (4)  How  do  CBF  Christians  explain  themselves  theologically  and  missiologically?  (5)  If  the  CBF  manifests  Bosch's  postmodern  paradigm  of  missiology,  does  it  qualify  as  a  perpetuation  of  the  Southern  Baptist  legacy?  (6)  Does  the  CBF  embrace  postmodernism?  (7)  How  do  CBF  Christians  interpret  the  Bible  and  theology?  Additionally,  this  chapter  explains  the  research  methods  and  the  resources  available  to  the  author.  Further,  the  first  chapter  explains  the  term    postmodernism  and  describes  its  relationship  to  Bosch's  postmodern  paradigm  of  missiology.

■520    ▼aThe  third  and  fourth  chapters  analyze  Bosch's  Transforming  Mission  .  Chapter  Three  describes  Bosch's  use  of  Thomas  Kuhn's  work,    The  Structure  of  Scientific  Revolutions,  and  Hans  Kung's  work,    Theology  for  the  Third  Millennium.  The  fourth  chapter  of  this  work  addresses  Bosch's  postmodern  paradigm  of  mission  and  compares  nine  of  its  thirteen  elements  with  the  CBF.
