요약 : This heuristic and wholistic study defines societal trauma, its effects, and avenues for healing. It synthesizes work done in a variety of disciplines, as well as the author's experience. United States is the focus of the study, although applications can be used in other countries. The model is grounded on the similarity of coping skills developed by adult children of alcoholics and others who suffered childhood abuse with those skills developed by adults and children who have experienced societal trauma. Several theoretical models address the discovery, effects, and healing from societal trauma. The concepts of "triggers" and of trauma mechanisms and coping skills are introduced as normal reactions to trauma. A life-threatening event is not necessarily the creator of psychological trauma but rather trauma is developed by unresolved "fight, flight, freeze" energy reactions created by the body's immune systems and the "energy of injury," created by an outside energy trajectory into the body. These unresolved physiological energies of trauma exacerbate a person's ability to heal from "isms" and societal trauma. Until now those studying and actively involved in conflict resolution and civil rights unrest dissolution have not taken into consideration the physiological component of trauma, which affects the ability of individuals and their groups to heal as well as to resolve conflict with perceived abuser groups.

요약 : The study explores how societal trauma affects areas such as transgenerational transmissions, grief, biculturation, identity formation, psychoneuroimmunology, communication styles, and revenge. There is an emphasis on utilizing one's own group's healing practices as a core or launchpad. Storytelling and the dream state are highlighted as two of the major approaches to re-authoring one's life, along with the use of energy modalities for releasing the unresolved trauma.
