초록/해제
요약 : This dissertation establishes the structure of the text, unit by unit, to which all literary segments or layers governing the composition of the text are to be subordinated, and determines its genre, setting and intention. The main focus is the discussion of the structure of the text at the level of final redaction.
초록/해제
요약 : Chapter one examines the history of research on Lev. 11-15. The prevalent scholarly traditions either identify the literary growth of Lev. 11-15 within the wider context of the Priestly literature or scrutinize the underlying principle of what is set forth in Lev. 11-15. Neither trend has paid sufficient attention to the nature of the composition of the text. Furthermore, neither trend has recognized a distinction between the original form/setting/intention of the materials of the text and the systematic arrangement of such materials in the text as it now stands.
초록/해제
요약 : Chapter two, which examines the text unit by unit, reveals that the arrangement of the massive amount of materials in Lev. 11-15 is deliberate. The final form is more than the sum of various traditions and literary layers. It is a conceptual composition which must be seen to be a genuinely literary product that occurred under the Priestly writer(s)'--Aaronide(s)'--systematic redaction. It sets forth the prescriptions as either prohibitions or case laws. It gives guidelines for the rules of behavior for future decision, by which the survival of the Israelites during the exile, post-exilic periods, or the future life of Israel in the restored land, is implemented under the literary-theological program by the Aaronide(s).
초록/해제
요약 : Chapter three deals with Lev. 11--15 as a whole in light of the Sinai Pericope and provides a compositional history. This chapter reveals that Lev. 11-15 subdivides into two major parts, according to the perspectives reflected in their problem situation. Lev. 11 deals with the problem of uncleanness resulting from contact with uncleanness; whereas the part Lev. 12-15 deals with the problem of uncleanness resulting from or in the context of physical conditions. The chapter concludes with a proposal that at least three hands/phases are responsible for Lev. 11-15. (Abstract shortened with permission of author.).
