초록/해제
요약 : This dissertation is a study of two contemporary Korean theologies--Sung theology and Minjung theology--and their social ethical implications. Emphasis is placed on a systematic presentation of the theological structures as well as the social ethical orientations of both theologies. Of significant importance in the study is the Asian religious experiences.
초록/해제
요약 : The theological contact point between Western theological thought and the Asian religious matrix as a revision of the theological heritages of the Reformed church tradition is explored. For this reason, the ethical orientation of the two theologies which is characterized as a theological ethic and which refers to an ethic that is not based on concrete scientific understandings of contemporary human experience is presented.
초록/해제
요약 : In light of the functional sociological perspective, the social ethical implications of the two Korean theologies are identified as systemic and dualistic. Sung theology represents a systemic thought, which attempts to bring about social change within the existing system, by reinforcing the traditional ethos. By contrast, minjung theology demonstrates a dualistic thought, emphasizing a cleavage between the oppressor and the oppressed. Thus, minjung theology is deeply concerned with bringing forth in the existing social system, per se. Consequently, while sung theology expresses the consciousness of the elite, the ruling and dominant groups of Korean society, minjung theology represents the perspective of the oppressed minjung.

요약 : As a result of this study, the writer confirms that in order to be an ethical proposal for the ministry of the Korean churches, the two Korean theologies have to resolve a two-fold problem: a crisis of identity and a crisis of relevance. Due to the negligence of clarifying the relationship between the gospel and the cultural/political context of Korea, the two theologies confound Christian thinking with Confucian thought and minjung experience, lacking critical analysis. A further conclusion is that to overcome the shortcomings of the two Korean theologies, and ethic which is reguired to clarify the Christian social ethical responsibility should be concerned not only with a theological basis but also a social scientific understanding of modern society, lest it be unrealistic.
