■520    ▼aThis  study  employed  a  causal-comparative  and  correlational  research  method  in  the  exploration  of  the  relationship  of  the  internal  resources  to  the  acceptance  and  use  pornography  in  Christian,  undergraduate  emerging  adults.    The  internal  resources  for  this  project  were  James  Marcia's  identity  status  construct,  James  Côté's  agency  construct,  and  the  broader  and  more  general  domain  of  religiosity.
■520    ▼aA  sample  of  517  students  was  drawn  from  three  Protestant,  Christian  universities  in  western  Canada.    All  of  the  students  were  a  part  of  a  residential  life  program.    The  sample  was  largely  Caucasian  (76%)  and  a  majority  were  female  (62%).    Along  with  basic  demographic  information,  students'  identity  status  was  assessed  using  the  Ego  Identity  Process  Questionnaire  (EIPQ)  instrument,  personal  agency  was  assessed  using  the  Multimeasure  Agentic  Personality  Scale  (MAPS20)  and  religiosity  was  assessed  using  the  Santa  Clara  Strength  of  Religious  Faith  (SCSORF)  instrument.    Additionally,  feelings  of  guilt  for  those  who  use  pornography  using  the  CPUI  instrument.
■520    ▼aIn  the  exploration  of  pornography  as  an  acceptable  expression  of  one's  sexuality,  T-tests  and  Chi-square  analysis  were  used  to  explore  the  relationships  between  acceptance  and  the  predictor  variables.  Agency  and  religiosity  were  both  found  to  be  significantly  and  negatively  related  to  acceptance  of  pornography.    The  relationship  between  acceptance  and  agency  had  a  small  effect  size  with  religiosity  having  a  medium  affect  size.    Regression  analysis  showed  religiosity  and  guilt  to  be  significant  predictor  of  acceptance  of  pornography.
■520    ▼aIn  the  exploration  of  use  of  pornography,  T-tests  and  Chi-square  analysis  were  used  to  explore  the  relationships  between  acceptance  and  the  predictor  variables.      Identity  status,  agency,  religiosity,  and  gender  were  shown  to  be  significantly  related  to  use  of  pornography.    Identity  status,  agency,  and  religiosity  had  small  effect  sizes.    Gender  had  a  large  effect  size.  Regression  analysis  showed  gender,  agency,  religiosity,  and  first  year  classification  in  school  were  significant  predictors  of  use  of  pornography.
■520    ▼aThis  study  provides  valuable  insights  that  can  be  utilized  to  make  the  Christian  university  experience  a  powerful  environment  to  positively  address  the  relevant  issue  of  acceptance  and  use  of  pornography  among  Christian  emerging  adults.  In  classroom  as  well  as  out  of  classroom  resources  have  the  potential  to  provide  a  powerful  constellation  of  influences  to  help  students  actions  match  their  convictions  and  beliefs.
