초록/해제
요약 : The christology of Matta al-Misk?n (a Coptic Orthodox monk) is historicized in affinity with Karl Barth's mature christology. The actualistic ontology at work in their christologies reflects a shift from the metaphysical ontology at work in traditional christology causing tension in it. This shift is grounded in a methodical reversal. They start their christological reflection with the scriptural claim that Jesus is Lord and then ask about the condition in God for the possibility of Jesus' lordship, rather than try to describe the unity of abstractly predefined two natures in the one person of Christ. This methodical reversal yields a historical view of Christ's being as act, a personal concept of revelation as self-revelation , and an agential view of Jesus as a performative agent. As such, Jesus is God by virtue of an eternal act of kenotic election. The being of Christ is therefore constituted in eternity and time as a twofold history of God's self-humiliation and human exaltation. This history starts in a covenantal eternity-past, is actualized in the history of reconciliation (the human life of Jesus), and ends in eternity-future ? through the power of the Holy Spirit. This convergence has ecumenical value as it is not based on formal agreements on old formulae, but on material proximity between two concrete theologies from different traditions. As such, this convergence provides a modern ground for inter-denominational, inter-religious, and inter-cultural dialogue.
