■520    ▼aSexual  temptations,  such  as  the  viewing  of  pornography,  are  very  dangerous  for  Christian  men.  This  project  gives  pastors  and  Christian  counselors  accurate  information  to  determine  the  factors  that  influence  men's  desire  to  view  pornography.  The  following  research  question  initiated  the  project:  "What  are  the  factors  that  influence  a  man's  desire  to  view  pornography?"  The  hypothesis  of  this  project  is  the  following:  "Each  of  the  five  dimensions  of  healthy  sexuality—(1)  behavioral,  (2)  physical,  (3)  relational,  (4)  emotional-personal,  and  (5)  spiritual—to  a  varying  degree,  can  influence  a  person's  desire  to  view  pornography.
■520    ▼aThe  thesis  includes  a  study  of  sinful  sexual  desire,  which  is  stirred  by  visual  stimuli  and  can  lead  to  sinful  actions  with  devastating  consequences.  How  and  why  a  Christian  should  overcome  sinful  sexual  desire  is  examined.  A  review  of  literature  related  to  pornography  is  presented,  and  the  dangers  and  harmful  effects  of  viewing  pornography  are  discussed.  Current  treatment  approaches  are  considered,  with  special  emphasis  place  on  the  works  of  Ginger  Manley  and  Mark  Laaser.  A  detailed  analysis  of  the  five  dimensions  of  healthy  sexuality  and  practical  applications  within  each  of  the  five  dimensions  are  explored.  These  dimensions  include  the  following:  (1)  Behavioral:  decision  making,  accountability  (2)  Physical:  time  management  and  overload,  masturbation  (3)  Relational:  intimacy  and  communication  (4)  Emotional-personal:  forgiveness  (50  Spiritual:  Bible  study,  prayer,  belonging  in  a  local  church.
■520    ▼aA  four-week  Daily  Inventory  Journal  and  personal  interviews  are  used  to  answer  the  research  question.  When  the  results  are  analyzed,  the  researcher  ranks  the  five  dimensions  according  to  the  amount  of  influence  they  had  on  men's  desire  to  view  pornography.  Insights  regarding  each  of  the  five  dimensions  are  examined.  Suggestions  and  recommendations  to  pastors,  Christian  counselors,  and  Christian  men  are  presented  as  part  of  this  project.
