■520    ▼aIn  the  last  few  decades,  psychological  research  on  forgiveness  has  grown  tremendously,  resulting  in  a  vast  body  of  literature.  The  present  study  examined  the  relationships  between  decisional  forgiveness,  emotional  forgiveness,  cognitive  experience  of  God,  emotional  experience  of  God,  and  religious  coping  in  a  highly  religious  Christian  sample  (N=105).  Results  showed  that  most  hypotheses  were  supported.  As  expected,  cognitive  and  emotional  experiences  of  God  were  positively  correlated  with  both  decisional  forgiveness  and  emotional  forgiveness.  Surprisingly,  religious  coping  was  significantly  predictive  of  emotional  forgiveness  but  shared  no  relationship  with  decisional  forgiveness.  Cognitive  experience  of  God  emerged  as  the  most  significant  predictor  of  decisional  forgiveness.  Clinical  implications,  study  limitations,  and  directions  for  future  research  are  discussed.
