초록/해제
요약 : During the past three decades more than 458 universities, schools, and institutions have incorporated coach-training programs, some of which teach Christian coaching courses (Carr, 2010). Christian coaches approach the coaching relationship from a biblical worldview, while incorporating rudimentary principles of secular coaching. Christian coaching has emerged within the coaching industry. Although coaching practices abound, the literature has suggested that there remains a lack of empirical data to support the efficacy of coaching outcome for Christian coaching models. Using a phenomenological approach, this study explored the Christian coaching methodology and investigated practices used to determine a successful Christian coaching outcome. The researcher collected data through interviews with six Christian coaches. An analysis of the data produced five emerging themes: Christian coach training, becoming a Christian coach, Christian coaching approaches, efficacy of Christian coaching, and educating the church community. The study concludes with some of the limitations of Christian coaching and makes recommendations for future research.
