■520    ▼aThe  endeavor  to  transform  the  belief  of  the  Korean-American  Christian  women,  the  Syncretic  Minjung  Jesus  should  be  an  image  of  Jesus  that  reflects  the  Korean-American  Christian  women's  import  of  syncretic  Korean  Christian  faith  statement  and  multi  religio-cultural  traditional  experiences  carried  from  their  migrant  yee-min-ga-bang.  This  particular  image  will  be  relevant  as  well  as  appropriate  in  representing  these  women's  unique  experiences  and  realities  living  as  “strangers”  in  the  dominant  society  facing  multiple  types  of  oppression,  racism,  sexism,  classism,  and  heterosexualism.  Regardless  of  our  economic  and  political  status  of  these  immigrants  once  enjoyed  in  our  mother  county  and  how  successful  we  have  become  financially  in  the  America  society,  we  are  still  minjung    based  on  our  race  and  ethnicity.  Moreover,  we  are  continuously  oppressed  politically,  consistently  exploited  economically,  constantly  blamed  socially,  and  perpetually  despised  culturally.
■520    ▼aThe  Syncretic  Minjung  Jesus  will  heal  our  wounded  heart,    han,  which  has  been  accumulated  throughout  the  turbulent  history  of  Korea  and  the  harsh  immigrant  life.  This  image  of  Jesus  will  liberate  from  the  blurred  image  of  syncretic  Jesus;  “fervently  praying  for  material  blessings  for  our  family  notion  in  Shamanism,”  “individualistic  notion  in  Buddhism,”  “hierarchy  relationship  in  Confucianism,”  and  “fundamentalistic  and  biblical  literalism  of  the  Korean  Christianity.”  This  particular  Syncretic  minjung  Jesus  also  will  lead  into  more  co-relevant  to  Others,  including  non-human  creatures,  empower  these  women  to  be  “subjects  of  their  stranger  history”  in  the  dominant  society,  and  take  responsibility  for  the  reign  of  God  and  solidarity  with  others  who  are  suffering.  The  Syncretic  Minjung  will  broaden  understanding  of  sin,  redemption,  and  spirituality.  Its  image  also  will  elevate  the  virtues  of  our  inheritance  allowing  them  to  grasp  the  roots  of  their  unique  brand  of  spirituality  as  part  of  the  procession.
■520    ▼aUnpacking  our  mother's  yee-min-ga-bang  and  analyzing  religio-cultural  heritages  such  as  Shamanism,  Buddhism,  Confucianism,  and  the  missionary  version  of  Christianity  derived  from  the  Western  perspective,  all  have  syncretinized  or  hybridized  into  one  another.  Retracing  history  of  the  Korean-American  immigrant  as  a  part  of  Asian-American  immigrant  and  our  immigrants'  social  station  within  the  dominant  society,  the  Korean-American  community  is  a  minjung  with  other  minority  ethnic  communities  in  terms  of  race  and  ethnicity.
