■520    ▼aBased  upon  a  collation  of  28  manuscripts  throughout  all  of  Romans,  quantitative  analysis  of  each  manuscript,  and  group  profile  data,  this  dissertation  argues  that  Codex  Porphyrianus  (P)  presents  a  mixed  text  in  Romans,  sharing  readings  with  both  the  Alexandrian  and  Byzantine  traditions.  Accordingly,  P  should  not  be  considered  a  significant  representative  of  the  Byzantine  tradition  in  Romans.  Chapter  One  introduces  the  project  and  the  identification  of  P  as  a  significant  representative  of  the  Byzantine  tradition  in  Paul  by  the  editors  of  the  United  Bible  Societies'  The  Greek  New  Testament.
