초록/해제
요약 : This dissertation is an attempt to build a biblical theology of spiritual warfare on the basis of Paul's teaching in 2 Corinthians 10-13.
초록/해제
요약 : Paul begins these chapters, which are taken to be a separate letter written after 2 Corinthians 1-9, with an extended military metaphor, highlighting the motif of spiritual warfare. In 10:3-6, Paul views his ministry (in general and in its specific application to the Corinthian situation) as spiritual warfare. Further analysis shows that this theme of spiritual warfare forms the background thought behind the writing of the whole letter. With this fact, together with the broad definition of spiritual warfare given in 10:3-6, the letter itself is an instance of spiritual warfare through which Paul seeks to recapture the Corinthians from Satanic deception (through the intruders in Corinth) for the obedience to Christ.
초록/해제
요약 : Exploring the theme of spiritual warfare in 2 Corinthians 10-13 with such an understanding, this study observes that Paul affirms the value of power demonstration through spiritual gifts in spiritual warfare, but attributes even greater value to power experienced through Christian suffering because it is in man's weakness that God's power is more fully displayed. Paul's higher evaluation of power in weakness than power through spiritual gifts is also related to his battle against human pride in order to draw people to God/Christ. This battle against human pride reveals the subtlety of spiritual warfare--victory at the external level (e.g., power display through gifts) may mean defeat at a deeper level if it results in human arrogance that obstructs the knowledge of God and the obedience to Christ, defeating the purpose of spiritual warfare (10:5).
초록/해제
요약 : Further, Christian character is basic to, and forms the proper context for, use of authority and power in spiritual warfare. Exercise of authority and power without being accompanied by Christian character may destroy church life rather than build it up.
초록/해제
요약 : Finally, the ultimate rationale behind all evaluation of spiritual gifts, Christian suffering, and Christian character in spiritual warfare is Christology, with Christocentric truth constituting the ultimate criterion for spirit discernment--the test of true apostleship and true spirituality.
