요약 : Problem. The problem of this study was to determine the difference in Biblical Worldview scores of adolescents from Southern Baptist families across three levels of Family Functioning and three levels of Family Discipleship in six selected Southern Baptist churches. The problem of this study was also to describe the developmental process of Biblical Worldview in adolescents of selected families from two of the six participating churches.

요약 : Procedures. A total sample of 309 students and at least one of their parents completed the Worldview Survey and students also completed the Brief Family Assessment Measure (BFAM) and the Parent Faith Nurturing Activities Scale-Revised (PFNA-R). BFAM Parent Faith Nurturing Activities Scale--Revised (PFNA-R). BEAM scores were split into three levels of Family Functioning: very healthy, healthy and disturbed. PFNA-R scores were split into three levels of Family Discipleship: strong, moderate and weak. A two-way ANOVA was conducted with significant differences analyzed using the Fisher-protected Least Significant Difference test (FLSD).

요약 : Findings and conclusion. The factorial ANOVA revealed no significant interaction. The main effect Family Discipleship was significant (p.05), but Family Functioning was not. The FLSD test revealed that adolescents who reported strong or moderate Family Discipleship scored significantly higher in Worldview scores than students who reported weak Family Discipleship. Additional analyses revealed parent Worldview scores were significantly higher than student Worldview scores. A one-way ANOVA conducted across type of schooling found students attending a private Christian school reported significantly higher Worldview scores than those attending public school, other private schools, or homeschool. Interview analyses revealed the frequency and nature of spiritual discussion, quality of communication in family relationships, family rituals and routines, and the priority of family time were the four primary categories of influence in the process of adolescent worldview development within the home.
