요약 : Seventeen correlational studies were also conducted in the anticipation that a significant positive correlation existed between preparedness for postvention counseling and seventeen other variables. A significant positive correlation greater than or equal to +.2380 was found between preparedness and eight of the seventeen variables tested.

요약 : The hypothesis of this study was that most, i.e. more than fifty percent, evangelical pastors are not prepared for the provision of suicide postvention. Data gathered from this research resulted in the rejection of the hypothesis of this study. Forty-seven of the sixty-six participants (seventy-one percent) were prepared.
초록/해제
요약 : The major research question of this study was, "Are evangelical pastors prepared for the provision of suicide postvention counseling?" Sixty-six evangelical pastors participated in this study by responding to a sixty-one item questionnaire that included twenty questions to evaluate their preparedness for the provision of suicide postvention care and counseling. Preparedness was measured by a pastor's degree of agreement with the results of postvention research to date. The questionnaire also provided demographic information and information relevant to the participants' personal and professional experiences with suicide.
초록/해제
요약 : The major research question was pursued along with seven subhypotheses. The following six subhypotheses were not rejected: (1) Most, i.e. more than fifty percent, evangelical pastors do not have a carefully considered theological approach to pastoral counseling for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. (2) Most, i.e. more than fifty percent, evangelical pastors do not have a carefully considered theological position concerning suicide. (3) Most, i.e. more than fifty percent, evangelical pastors who have read on the subject of suicide have read material concerned with the prevention and crisis intervention aspects of suicide rather than postvention. (4) Suicide does occur among evangelical Christians. (5) Evangelical pastors are among those who have either contemplated or attempted suicide. (6) Most, i.e. more than fifty percent, evangelical pastors do not believe that suicide is an unpardonable sin.
