■520    ▼aFindings  and  conclusion.  The  independent  variables'  impact  on  the  dependent  variables  was  significantly  impacted  by  the  length  of  the  remarriage  and  the  family  form.  Blended  families  need  to  be  segregated  by  these  variables  in  future  studies.  Mother  Custody  families  and  Complex  Custody  families  function  differently  from  one  another  based  on  the  interactions  between  the  dependent  and  independent  variables.  These  differences  are  discussed  in  the  study  and  suggestions  for  future  research  are  made.
■520    ▼aProblem.  The  problem  approached  by  this  study  is  to  analyze  the  relationship  between  health/competence,  level  of  conflict,  level  of  cohesion,  leadership,  and  emotional  expressiveness,  as  measured  by  scores  from  the  Self-Report  Family  Instrument,  to  selected  predictor  variables  in  blended  families  from  among  selected  churches  across  six  different  Christian  denominations  in  Fort  Worth,  Texas  and  from  among  randomly  selected  Southern  Baptist  Churches  in  Dallas,  Denton,  Johnson,  Parker,  and  Tarrant  counties  in  Texas.  The  selected  predictor  variables  are  length  of  time  since  final  separation  and  since  remarriage,  the  age  of  the  children  at  the  time  of  the  final  separation  and  the  remarriage,  the  gender  of  the  children,  frequency  and  length  of  time  of  visits  to  nonresidential  parent's  home,  and  presence  of  nonresidential  children.
■520    ▼aProcedures.  A  total  of  one  hundred  and  forty-eight  churches  were  contacted  regarding  participation  in  this  study.  Those  who  chose  to  participate,  identified  and  contacted  blended  families  in  their  membership  for  permission  to  be  contacted  by  the  researcher.  Those  families  who  agreed  to  participate  were  sent  questionnaires  which  were  returned  in  self-addressed,  stamped  envelopes.  The  returned  questionnaires,  of  the  families  who  met  the  guidelines  of  the  study,  were  analyzed  using  a  spreadsheet  and  SPSS,  a  statistical  software  package.  The  data  was  analyzed  using  the  multiple  linear  regression  (stepwise)  statistic.
