요약 : Reflection upon insights concerning faith and reason within the Proslogion can contribute today towards resolving the ecumenical conflict that had developed between analogia entis and analogia fidei. This dissertation seeks to revitalize that ecumenical dialogue by actualizing its attempts at ressourcement.

요약 : The purpose of this dissertation is to explore the intertextuality between the modes of knowing sola ratione and sola fide within Anselm of Canterbury's Proslogion and the ecumenical debates between Erich Przywara's analogia entis and Karl Barth's analogia fidei. Cognition sola ratione was transformed into an autonomous function of human reason in the philosophical interpretations of Proslogion II by Descartes, Kant, and Hegel. Cognition sola fide was developed into a form of theological reasoning within Barth's conception of analogia fidei. Barth's effort to develop a form of theological reasoning without philosophical or anthropological foundations led to the harsh critique of analogia entis in his preface to CD 1/1: analogia entis as "the invention of the Antichrist." However, Barth's critique of philosophical foundations cannot be a proper judgment of philosophy in general, since the deeper reason for Barth's rejection of the philosophies of his time stemmed from a specific presupposition of these philosophies: the innate relatedness between God and human beings, which was antithetical to Barth's basic theological axiom: God as totaliter aliter. The Anselmian sense of cognition sola ratione, which was cultural-linguistically open toward God as other, can still provide resources for the renewal of discourse between analogia entis and analogia fidei. In the current discussion, Paul Ricoeur's religious hermeneutics, which philosophically and linguistically remains open toward the otherness of God, can be read as a modern variation on the Anselmian sense of sola ratione, especially if qualified by Hans Frei's sensus literalis, a linguistic parallel to the Barthian sense of sola fide.
