요약 : This dissertation is a study of the relationship between the doctrines of creation and salvation in the theologies of Juergen Moltmann, Catherine Keller and Kathryn Tanner within the context of the ecological crisis. Ever since the theologian Joseph Sittler it has been assumed that the Christian doctrine of salvation must be integrated within the larger orbit of the doctrine of creation in order to overcome both anthropocentric, nature denying tendencies. Only when salvation is seen as part of God's creative involvement with the world, God's salfivic work in Christ can be said to encompass all of the world's existence, both human and non-human. This dissertation tests this assumption by an analysis of the respective theological models of Moltmann, Keller, and Tanner. It demonstrates that while an integrative account of creation and salvation is a prerequisite for an ecological theology, it does not automatically lead to a theological account of nature that is ecologically sound. In particular, Moltmann's eschatological, kenotic model illustrates that one can have a fully integrated account of nature, while still operating with a rather ambiguous evaluation of nature---most notably evolutionary processes---as tending towards 'nothing.' Drawing on the models presented by Keller, Tanner as well insights offered by ecological theologians Denis Edwards and Celia Dean-Drummond, this dissertation argues in favor of the retrieval of Wisdom Christology for an ecologically sound integrative account of creation and salvation.
