요약 : A high degree of compatibility between the doctrine of God in Job and Tillich was found in the study. Knowing God through revelation in the context of existential experience is the starting-point of both Job and Tillich. Compatibility between the doctrine of God in Tillich and Job was found at the following points: God as ultimate concern, God as being-itself, God as the living God, God as the personal God, God as free, God as Creator, God as immanent and transcendent, God as relating, God as the holy God, God as the ominpotent God, God as eternal, God as love, and God as Lord and Father.

요약 : Paul Tillich's theological formulations are examined to assess their value as an adequate ontological and cosmological framework for the interpretation of the Old Testament. This examination was carried out by a comparative study of the doctrine of God in the Old Testament Book of Job and in Tillich's Systematic Theology.

요약 : The approach used by Tillich in developing his doctrine of God and theology in general are paralleled in the author of Job's struggle for a new understanding of God and God's relationship to man. The study concludes that given the compatibility of the doctrine of God in Job and Tillich and the parallel natures of their approach to theological formulation it would appear that the theological method and results of Tillich can be effectively applied to the development of biblical theology from such Old Testament literature as the Book of Job.

요약 : The major difference between the views of God in Tillich and Job was found in the greater philosophical sophistication of Tillich. The conception of God as Spirit and a fully developed trinitarianism, both aspects of Tillich's doctrine of God, are lacking in Job. In addition, Tillich's strictly symbolic use of terms taken from the realm of the finite to describe God is not exactly paralleled in the use of such finite descriptions of God in Job.
