요약 : The aim of this study is to clarify what Zinzendorf meant when he referred to the Holy Spirit by means of the term "Mother." The primary data of the study is Zinzendorf's textual employment of the language. But since every text belongs to some context, the Count's use of this language is placed within the community in which it functioned.
초록/해제
요약 : The content of the doctrine was essentially the same as Luther's doctrine of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit sanctified by making the external word of God alive in the heart and by making a new person of the Christian. At one point Zinzendorf modified Luther's doctrine to answer a question Luther had not considered. But within his eighteenth century context this modification was, ironically, what drew Zinzendorf closer to Luther's teaching about the Spirit than were either Orthodoxy or radical Pietism. Therefore, in so far as one recognizes Luther's teaching to represent classical Christianity, one must recognize Zinzendorf's to do the same.
초록/해제
요약 : Zinzendorf attempted to use language which was simultaneously theologically perspicacious and religiously edifying. In his communities, on the basis of his appeal to the Christian scriptures, Luther and Francke, this attempt produced the doctrine of the motherly office of the Holy Spirit. Thus, this doctrine was the result of the convergence of the Zinzendorfian practice of community, Zinzendorf's reading of the Christian scriptural canon, Luther and A. H. Francke, and his practical concerns about religious language.
초록/해제
요약 : Zinzendorf's doctrine of the Spirit was also an important element of his hermeneutic. He was a vehement trinitarian anti-subordinationist. Moreover he understood the triune God as the original community. This played a crucial role in his understanding of the Christian community. He claimed that the Christian community must reflect the revealed triune God. This led him to the practice of gender-inclusive, egalitarian Christian community. Consequently, the recognition of his doctrine of the Holy Spirit as classically Christian warrants the further conclusion that his practice of gender-inclusive, egalitarian community was called forth by classical Christian trinitarian teaching as was an authentic expression of classical Christianity.
