Abstracts/Etc
요약Concerning the total years of working with full-time ministers of music, 63.6% of the senior pastors reported it was just five years or less. Almost all of the full-time ministers of music (89.7%) and the senior pastors (91.4%) were "(Very) satisfied" with the cooperative relationship they had with each other. There was no significant difference in most opinions between the two groups.
Abstracts/Etc
요약On the whole, the future of the position of full-time minister of music in the Korean immigrant church is positive. What is needed most now are pioneers who are willing to devote their entire careers to the music ministry with a sense of calling.
Abstracts/Etc
요약The median Sunday worship attendance of the churches surveyed was 1,500, with the smallest being 70. The majority of the full-time ministers of music held an M.Div. degree (71.8%) and were ordained (69.2%). Only 41.0% majored in church music. The average period as a full-time minister of music was 4.7 years and the average tenure was 2.2 years. About half (51.3%) were praise-team-based ministers. Although most of them (84.6%) were "(Very) satisfied" with their responsibilities. 67.6% planned to leave their current churches in four years. More than half (56.4%) planned to change careers.
Abstracts/Etc
요약The subjects of the study were forty full-time ministers of music and thirty-seven senior pastors in Korean immigrant churches. The primary survey format was the questionnaire. Two separate forms of questionnaires were developed for the two groups. The response rate was over ninety-seven percent for both questionnaires. Follow-up telephone interviews were conducted as a supplement to the questionnaire with all the full-time ministers of music surveyed.
Abstracts/Etc
요약This study had four purposes: (1) to survey the current status of full-time ministers of music in Korean immigrant churches in the United States; (2) to survey the senior pastors of those churches with a full-time minister of music; (3) to determine whether differences of opinion exist between full-time ministers of music and senior pastors surveyed; and (4) to consider the future of the position of full-time minister of music in the Korean immigrant church. To accomplish these purposes, the descriptive research method was employed.
