요약 : An old German Lutheran congregation such as Immanuel Lutheran Church, Danbury, presents a unique challenge to both aspects of Christ's commission. There is a certain amount of inertia about this. While such congregations have been energetic in their support of foreign missions, the attitude toward local outreach may be characterized as indifferent. Christian education of the young via confirmation instruction and a Christian Day School is viewed as very important, but spiritual growth and renewal of those already confirmed isn't considered to be really necessary. An additional significant element is that the Day Schools of old German Lutheran congregations are decreasingly Lutheran in their parent-student population, and increasingly unchurched altogether.

요약 : The Lutheran Open House Mission is designed to develop and strengthen both discipleship and evangelism simultaneously. It causes members of a congregation to see the public implications of the Gospel more clearly for themselves and their congregation, and for their community, both local and global. It climaxes with four or five consecutive days of Open House outreach visits and of worship services featuring a guest preacher. While these days are preceded by months of crucial coordinated prayer, Bible study and training, the visits and services are most frequently the identified meaning of the name "Lutheran Open House Mission.".

요약 : This is a report of what happened in Immanuel congregation by means of Lutheran Open House Missions in the particular areas of discipleship and evangelism, with particular attention to 1989. An evaluation of the Lutheran Open House Mission as a tool for growth in these ministries reveals that when diligently conducted on an annual basis, discernible results are predictable and perceptions of the accomplishment of these tasks within the congregation are enhanced.

요약 : This project is about strengthening discipleship and evangelism in an old German Lutheran congregation which operates a Christian Day School as one of its major ministries.
초록/해제
요약 : Those already committed to Jesus Christ need to be 'discipled' with the gospel on a continuing basis. Spiritual renewal is the ongoing educational mission of the church to itself. Simultaneously, the church's commission is to reach out inclusively to all races and nationalities and "make disciples ".
