요약 : In exploring the Christologies of Schleiermacher and Rahner in relation to the doctrines of the enhypostasis, and Trinity and grace, respectively, it is demonstrated that both thinkers attempt a revisionist Christology which intends to remain solidly within the Christian tradition. I explore the dangers, nonetheless, of Schleiermacher's reticent engagement of the passion, death, and resurrection of Christ and some problems associated with Rahner's category of the anonymous Christian.

요약 : In the final chapter, I explore the category of "experience" in conversation with my own Lutheran heritage. In so doing, I posit the importance of baptism and the Eucharist for considering experience Christianly. The archaic and teleological qualities of baptism and Eucharist serve as book ends between which I explore the aesthetic, practical, and theoretical dimensions of experience using insights garnered from my study of Schleiermacher and Rahner. In conclusion, I consider the possibility of an apologetic prolegomenon to dogmatics by way of a retrieval of the biblical notion of apology. In so doing, I posit the Eucharist as the apologetic prolegomenon to dogmatics.

요약 : It is then demonstrated that both thinkers attempt to use "experience" as a category by which to provide leverage in apprehending Jesus. Experience will be related to feeling and election in Schleiermacher and grace in Rahner, in order to confirm that their appeals to experience are informed and ordered by doctrinal commitments.

요약 : The thesis first advances by demonstrating that both thinkers work out their hermeneutical perspective in response to the Kantian limit in such a way that philosophy is not determinative for their theology. It is shown that Schleiermacher's earlier dependence on intuition increasingly gives way to a dependence on the descriptive power of language in the context of the community of faith, while Rahner's categories of transcendental and categorial function interpretively under the discipline of the great doctrines of the faith.
초록/해제
요약 : This thesis explores the appeal to experience in the Christologies of Schleiermacher and Rahner. In so doing, it is proposed that neither Schleiermacher nor Rahner intended to provide an apologetic prolegomenon to dogmatics in which anthropology functions outside of the tutelage of theology.
