요약 : A variety of extra-canonical influences on Paul's use of Deut 30:11-14 have been suggested. Most prominent among these are the apocryphal book of Baruch and the Palestinian Targums. Examination of these proposed parallels, however, reveals that none of them shows sufficient verbal or thematic similarity to Rom 10:6-8 to be convincing as a mediating influence.

요약 : Deut 29-30 is properly interpreted as an incipient new covenant text. It is a prophetic passage that speaks of Israel's inevitable failure and judgment under the Mosaic covenant and looks beyond the Mosaic covenant to God's promise of heart circumcision. In this context the command to love God with a whole heart is said to be neither difficult nor distant.
초록/해제
요약 : Rom 10:6-8 provides an excellent test case to examine three main issues which have been raised in connection with Paul's use of the OT: the text form of Paul's citations, Paul's use of Jewish hermeneutics, and the problem of divine and human authorship. Prior to this century this reference to Deut 30:11-14 has been explained primarily in two ways, either as an appeal to a prophetic passage with messianic import or as a rhetorical application of the OT which does not purport to give the original sense of the passage. In this century, however, it has became common to charge Paul with misinterpreting the OT and a variety of new interpretations have arisen.
초록/해제
요약 : Rom 9-11 traces the same history of Israel's failure and ultimate restoration as Deut 29-30. Paul is speaking in covenantal and redemptive historical terms concerning God's plans for His people Israel. Christ has inaugurated the new covenant and brought the Mosaic era to culmination. Therefore, Paul understands the promise of the new covenant to be available and appeals to Israel to respond to it. Paul's interpretation is not an example of pesher interpretation or an appeal to sensus plenior but an accurate understanding of the original OT meaning.
