■520    ▼aThe  study  investigated  levels  of  stress,  coping,  and  burnout  among  three  levels  of  nursing  staff:  registered  nurses  (RNs),  licensed  practical  nurses  (LPNs),  and  certified  nursing  assistants  (CNAs).    Additionally,  this  study  examined  the  relationship  between  nurses'  gender,  minority  status,  age,  and  education  level,  nursing  certification  level,  work  schedule,  and  the  outcomes  of  stress,  coping,  and  burnout,  as  well  as  the  ability  of  those  factors  to  predict  stress,  coping,  and  burnout  in  employees  at  nursing  facilities  for  the  elderly.    Data  were  collected  using  a  set  of  instruments  that  included  the  Expanded  Nursing  Stress  Scale  (ENSS),  Maslach's  Burnout  Inventory  (MBI),  Ways  of  Coping  Questionnaire  (WAYS),  and  the  demographic  questionnaire.    Results  of  the  study  found  no  statistically  significant  difference  in  levels  of  stress,  coping,  and  burnout  based  on  nurses'  gender,  minority  status,  age,  and  education  level,  nursing  certification  level,  work  schedule  among  professional  caregivers  (RNs,  LPNs,  and  CNAs).    The  results  on  the  study  revealed  that  there  was  a  significant  relationship  between  the  MBI  Subscales  Emotional  Exhaustion  and  Personal  Accomplishment  that  predict  burnout  in  nursing  facility  employees  and  no  significant  relationship  with  the  MBI  Subscale  Depersonalization.    Findings  from  the  research  give  the  nursing  profession  a  better  approach  on  how  stress,  coping,  and  burnout  occurs  in  nursing  facilities  and  ways  on  how  to  provide  excellent  direct  care  to  elderly  patients.
