■520    ▼aThis  qualitative  study  examines  the  parenting  practices  and  acculturation  challenges  among  African  immigrants  and  refugee  parents  in  the  United  States.  The  study  is  a  secondary  data  analysis  based  on  a  data  collected  by  Professional  Association  of  Treatment  Homes  (PATH)  through  two  focus  groups  conducted  with  11  Ghanaian  and  13  Liberian  parents  residing  in  the  Twin  Cities.  A  pre  and  post  self-administered  questionnaire  was  also  administered  to  the  focus  group  participants  for  the  following  reasons:  to  collect  descriptive  statistics  as  well  as  capture  individual  responses  to  the  issues  being  discussed  in  the  focus  group.
