요약 : Based on the theological and biblical explorations covered in Chapter Three and social science research results from Chapter Two, several insights are evident. First, sanctification is a process associated with all human dimensions. Second, sanctification purposefully motivates one's life, cultivating spiritual formation and relationship with God. Third, this process requires not only God's grace and the work of the Holy Spirit, but human effort, as well---training for godliness and exercising self-control. In addition, some practical suggestions for encouraging spiritual formation are offered to help people pursue formation into God's holiness.

요약 : Chapter Two reveals that self-regulatory practices could be some of the most important components of change in people's lives. Self-regulation is a process which is associated with everyone's lives. Practicing spiritual disciplines regularly may affect human wellbeing physically, mentally, and spiritually. Relational patterns, which have been formed in earlier stages of people's lives, may have an impact on one's current relationships with others and with God. However, these relational patterns can also be changed through the experience of different relational patterns and holding true images of God. Practicing spiritual disciplines seems to provide opportunities that allow people to be open to God, and change their lives into greater Christlikeness. Practicing spiritual disciplines, which illuminate human dimensions holistically and regularly with God's values and perspectives, can stimulate spiritual formation and enhance relationship with God. Chapter three provides the theological foundation for spiritual practices by focusing on sanctification and integration of biblical concepts into social-science research. Practicing a godly life and self-control would be a beneficial tool to develop spiritual habits. The ultimate goal of sanctification through these practices is to obtain the eschatological prize and a life that exemplifies a believer's most desirable state.
