요약 : The research problem is, "How does the educational approach impact leader development among secondary students at selected schools in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States?" Data was collected and averaged among the six educational approaches, showing public high school student, military and nonmilitary, having the highest mean scores. An ANOVA analysis of those averages (F (5, 24) = 5.10, p .05, with a P-value of 0.003) was conducted and seems to suggest significant differences between the educational approaches.

요약 : The standard instrument, used with permission, was Kouzes and Posner's Student Leadership Practices Inventory-Self(c). Their 30-item survey measures leadership practices in five distinct categories: modeling the way, inspiring a shared vision, challenging the process, enabling others to act, and encouraging the heart. Demographic data was also collected from the subjects.

요약 : This dissertation is a descriptive-comparative quantitative analysis of how different educational approaches impact, if at all, leader development among secondary school students in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States. Nine randomly selected schools from Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina participated. These nine schools reflected six different educational approaches: public nonmilitary, public military, Christian nonmilitary, Christian military, nonsectarian nonmilitary, and nonsectarian military. After approval from the Seminary's Ethics Committee, the participating schools and/or school districts, and their parents, 241 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students were surveyed during the 2010--2011 school year.
