초록/해제: 요약 : Data analysis utilized the research technique of triangulation to determine congruence in the leadership behaviors of the presidents by analyzing the data from the personal interviews, the LPI 360 survey, and the review of institutional documents. The qualitative portions of the research, which included the personal interviews and the institutional documents, were coded and categorized with the aid of NVivo data analysis software. The quantitative aspect involved using SPSS software to provide descriptive and inferential statistical analysis on the LPI 360 data.

초록/해제: 요약 : The purpose of this mixed method collective case study was to explore the process used by Christian college and seminary presidents to develop and communicate a vision for the institution. In order to accomplish this purpose, this study investigated the visionary leadership of six college and seminary presidents who serve in institutions of higher learning historically affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. The presidents are Tom Kinchen of the Baptist College of Florida, Jimmy Epting of North Greenville University, Frank Bonner of Gardner-Webb University, Danny Akin of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Paige Patterson of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Jeff Iorg of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary.

초록/해제: 요약 : This collective case study used a mixed methods approach utilizing both qualitative and quantitative aspects. The qualitative portion of the study involved personal interviews with each president and a review of institutional documents from each of the colleges and seminaries. The quantitative aspect of the study utilized the Leadership Practices Inventory 360 (LPI 360), a tool developed by Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner as a means of measuring five categories of leadership behavior. The LPI 360 has a well-documented history that has consistently demonstrated its reliability as a valid test instrument. The collection of data occurred in three phases. The first phase consisted of personal interviews with each of the six presidents. The interviews were conducted at the college or seminary where the president serves. Each interview was digitally recorded and transcribed. The survey phase consisted of the president and selected members of his presidential cabinet completing the LPI 360. The documentation phase involved the collection of institutional documents and writings of the president that demonstrated how vision was developed and communicated.
