■520    ▼aGod,  the  Creator  is  a  multi-movement  symphonic  poem  for  chamber  orchestra  that  portrays  selected  images  from  the  Genesis  account  of  creation.  The  work  contains  seven  movements,  with  each  of  the  first  six  movements  representing  one  day  of  creation.  The  final  depicts  the  day  when  God  rested  upon  the  completion  of  his  creative  handiwork.  The  composition  is  through-composed,  tonal,  and  diverse,  featuring  a  variety  of  timbres  created  by  various  instrumental  combinations.  Instrumentation  is  as  follows:  flute,  oboe,  clarinet,  alto  saxophone,  trumpet,  horn,  euphonium,  tenor  trombone,  bass  trombone,  three  violins,  viola,  cello,  string  bass,  piano,  tympani,  orchestra  bells,  chimes,  gong,  and  wind  chimes.
