요약 : Chapter one highlights the motivation, goal and purpose of the study. Additionally, Chapter one includes the thesis, organization of the study, limitations, and the specific sources used in the study. Furthermore, the chapter introduces two foundational Scriptures for the study: Matthew 22:36-40 and Revelation 7:9. These two Bible passages provide a basis for the thesis, as both speak on the issue of multi-ethnicity and reveal the dominating theme of love. This study also examines other Scripture passages that deal with race and ethnicity in the Old and New Testaments. While more than one race constitutes multi-ethnicity, the study focused on black-white race relations in the history of the nation and the select churches surveyed.

요약 : Chapter two gives the biblical and historical perspectives related to race and multi-ethnicity. The chapter provides exegetical word studies of key terms explaining biblical passages dealing with race. The chapter also investigates historical events in America that led to the separation that currently exists in the church and focuses on Martin Luther King, Jr. as a key figure in the modern American Civil Rights Movement.
초록/해제
요약 : Throughout American history, skin color and race have divided the Christian church. Institutionalized racism fueled the separation that existed in the church following slavery, the Civil War and the Civil Rights Movement. In truth, often the Christian church missed key opportunities to unite races and continued to accept racism and segregation in practice and life. The picture of the multitude revealed by the Apostle John in Revelation 7:9 expresses what will be the future of the body of Christ. Based on the testimony of the Apostle John and the witness of the early church, the biblical model for the evangelical Christian church is multi-ethnicity. However, racism continues to plague the church and stunt the establishment and growth of multi-ethnic churches in America. The motivation of the study is to prove that the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ is able to end racism, segregation and disunity in the American church, and promote the establishment of multi-ethnic
