초록/해제
요약 : As a first generation, Korean-American minister, having become aware of the Korean-American immigrant peoples' daily lives and religions through my own ministry, I decided to train lay people with the biblical Christian evangelical discipleship so that well-trained lay leaders may supplement the evangelical pastoral ministry within their immigrant community.

요약 : Furthermore, many problems exist in the ministerial field within the Korean immigrant church. One major concern is that churchgoers have different religious backgrounds, such as Buddhism, Confucianism, and Shamanism, that are too various to find a common basis. In my experiences, I have found that it is impossible for the Christian minister alone to help them effectively.
초록/해제
요약 : I adapted John Wesley's small group ministry model, which changed the eighteenth-century society of England. It is also the biblical model of the Early Christian church, which was begun by lay people. With the biblical, theological spirit, I prepared a lay people training manual as follows: (1) Abraham's Immigrant Story; (2) Israelites' Babylon Exile and marginal Experience; (3) Biblical, Evangelical Message; (4) Biblical Understanding of Christian church; (5) Context of Today's Mission Context; (6) Task of Local Church and Evangelism; (7) Oriental Various Religious Backgrounds.
초록/해제
요약 : I found that not all people are real Christians who attend the Christian worship service. Additionally, there is a lack of well-trained lay leaders within the immigrant church. I can say that many people come to Christian church like social club members every Sunday. In Korea, less than twenty-five percent of people went to church, but in the U.S., more than sixty percent go to the church every Sunday. This is largely due to the fact that they believe it is helpful to attend church for their immigrant lives in the U.S., which is a Christian country.
초록/해제
요약 : Therefore, I wrote a training manual and recruited lay people who are expected to be good Christian leaders in the future. The goal is to train them in order to share my pastoral burdens within the immigrant community.
