■520    ▼aIn  part  A,  the  study  considers  the  position  of  human  being  and  of  sanctification  as  the  purpose  of  calling.  Chapter  1  deals  with  the  topic  of  human  being  as  the  object  of  sanctification.  Chapter  2  defines  and  clarifies  the  terminology  to  be  used  throughout  the  study,  e.g.,  sanctification,  justification,  repentance  and  regeneration,  and  describes  the  mutual  relationships  of  each  stage  of  salvation.
■520    ▼aLastly,  part  C  explores  an  answer  to  the  question  of  how  Christians  practically  should  live  in  this  world.  Chapter  6  examines  the  Christian  ethic  as  defined  by  both  freedom  and  responsibility  and  suggests  the  political  application  of  Korean  reunification.  This  chapter  argues  that  the  praxis  of  sanctification  must  be  established  through  the  disciples'  participation  in  God's  initiative.  Chapters  7  and  8  deal  with  Christian  individual  sanctification  and  healing  and  suggest  how  the  Paracletic  process  of  healing  may  be  applied  to  Christian  life  in  the  dimension  of  self-care  and  the  direction  of  the  Christian  compassionate  ministry  of  giving  life  to  others  in  the  dimension  of  pastoral  care,  that  is,  in  the  restoration  of  God's  image.
■520    ▼aMany  churches  have  only  a  shallow  appreciation  for  theoretical  as  well  as  praxical  relationships  between  justification  and  sanctification.  We  need  to  understand  sanctification  not  simply  as  one  of  many  doctrines,  but  with  relation  to  the  whole  of  Christian  life.
■520    ▼aThis  dissertation  attempts  to  restate  a  systematic  doctrine  of  "sanctification  and  the  Christian  life,"  while  integrating  scripture  with  Reformational  and  "paracletic-pastoral"  reflection  on  the  Christian  life.  The  study  seeks  to  suggest  the  identity,  criteria  and  direction  for  a  ministry  of  giving  life.
