■520    ▼aChapter  Five  investigated  expository  preaching  and  the  ways  in  which  transformational  speaking  principles  strengthened  it.  Christian  preaching  was  defined  as  both  calling  and  craft.  To  limit  the  scope  of  the  dissertation  attention  was  focused  on  Christian  expository  preaching.  Different  definitions  of  expository  preaching  were  presented,  and  Charles  Bugg's  definition  was  chosen  for  further  investigation.  Next,  it  was  shown  how  transformational  speaking  techniques  strengthened  expository  preaching  at  the  point  of  craft.  As  a  practical  example  these  techniques  were  then  applied  to  one  of  Charles  Bugg's  sermons.
■520    ▼aChapter  Four  presented  the  five  different  techniques  of  transformational  speaking.  These  included  the  techniques  of  creative,  interactive,  visionary,  empowering,  and  passionate  speech.  Each  technique  was  thoroughly  explained  and  specific  examples  were  given.
■520    ▼aChapter  Six  gave  a  concluding  summary  and  presented  an  expository  sermon  which  employed  transformational  speaking  techniques.  It  was  ultimately  determined  that  transformational  speaking  techniques  were  simply  tools  that  could  be  used  in  the  crafting  of  a  sermon.  Suggestions  for  further  research  were  offered,  along  with  some  concluding  remarks.
■520    ▼aChapter  Three  addressed  Peter  Berger  and  Thomas  Luckmann's  theory  of  the  social  construction  of  reality.  The  theory's  three  dialectical  moments  of  externalization,  objectivation,  and  internalization  were  examined  in  great  detail.  The  absolutely  essential  role  of  language  in  the  construction  of  any  kind  of  social  reality  was  then  discussed.
■520    ▼aChapter  Two  defined  and  analyzed  the  theory  of  transformational  leadership.  General  definitions  of  leadership  were  followed  with  a  very  in-depth  definition  of  transformational  leadership  and  its  various  interactive  relationships.  Transformational  leadership  was  then  compared  to  other  leadership  styles.  Finally,  the  concept  of  minister  as  leader  was  introduced.
