■500    ▼a"Abridgment  of  the  Catechism  of  Platon,  Metropolitan  of  Moscow.  The  unabridged  work,  first  published  in  Russian  in  1765,  was  twice  translated  into  English--by  Robert  Pinkerton  in  1814,  and  by  Mr.  Potessaro  in  1847.  A  Greek  translation  of  the  abridgment  was  first  printed  in  Vienna,  in  1805,  by  Demetrius  Darbaris.  It  was  subsequently  revised  by  S.C.  Blastus,  and  published  by  him  in  Athens,  under  the  auspices  of  the  Holy  Synod  of  Greece,  in  1851  and  1857.  The  copy  of  the  Greek  Edition  of  1857,  from  which  the  present  translation  has  been  made"--5th  prelim.  p.
