초록/해제: 요약 : This dissertation is a missiological response to the renewal of the Presbyterian Church of Korea (Tonghap). The primary issues addressed in this study are the institutional and contextual influences, which weaken the PCKT and the recommendations for combating these influences.

초록/해제: 요약 : To grapple with these issues, the author divides the research into three parts. Part 1 focuses on the theoretical foundations for the renewal of the Church from a historical understanding of the Reformed renewal movements. The renewal movements led by Calvin, the Puritans in fifteenth century England, and Jonathan Edwards are evaluated (Chapter 2). In addition, the theological understanding of renewal from the evangelical perspective is discussed (Chapter 3). Part 2 analyzes the weaknesses of the PCKT from a historical and missiological point of view (Chapter 4), including the institutional reasons (Chapter 5) and the contextual reasons for its weaknesses (Chapter 6). Part 3 is devoted to focusing on recommendations for responding to these weaknesses of the PCKT (Chapter 7). The general conclusion of this study is to encourage the PCKT to pursue renewal by strategies which integrate the three dimensions of theology, spiritual dynamics, and structure.
