요약 : The purpose of this project was to determine the compatibility of liberation theology and a systems eclecticism for use as an effective pastoral marriage counseling model. The project's primary focus was on (1) the marriage crisis in society and its impact upon the military family; (2) specific developments within the communities of liberation theology and systems eclecticism that will help alleviate the crisis; (3) the compatibility of their language, methodologies and human nature insights; (4) how these insights enhance each other in the marriage counseling process; and (5) what is success in pastoral counseling?
초록/해제
요약 : The research methodology was a combination of processes. First of all, a comprehensive examination of literature relating to human nature, the marriage crisis in society, family systems theory, liberation theology and the possibility of a counseling eclecticism was pursued. Secondly, the action phase was conducted at the California Family Study Center in Burbank, California with six couples.
초록/해제
요약 : Evaluation concerns were two fold. The writer was concerned about the development of his counseling skills and the progress of his clients. Consequently, success was determined by direct observation of the client's and writer's progress through the use of audio and audio visual recordings, personal journals, testing materials and feedback from the clients, co therapist and supervisors.
초록/해제
요약 : The paper unfolds with an examination of the marriage crisis in society with a special emphasis on the military family. Especially military marriages involving junior officers and enlisted personnel.
초록/해제
요약 : Chapter two outlines the writer's theology of marriage. Marriage is defined as a sacred, dynamic pilgrimage involving one man and woman freely covenanting together in "God's Crucible," to grow by participating in experiences of communication, companionship, creation, consolation and completion.
초록/해제
요약 : Chapter three presents a general over view of liberation theology and systems eclecticism development and major concepts. It was determined that the two disciplines can be used together effectively in counseling from a theoretical point of view.
초록/해제
요약 : Chapters four and five verify this conclusion from an experiential point of view. These chapters outline the action phase as conducted at the California Family Study Center, the writer's theoretical basis for pastoral marriage counseling and a presentation of the results and evaluative statements.
