■520    ▼aChapter  one  introduces  the  traditional,  view  of  early  Korean  Christology  which  claims  that  foreign  missionaries  had  near  absolute  influence  over  the  formation  of  early  Korean  theology  by  unilaterally  handing  over  their  apolitical  and  metaphysical  Christology  to  the  indigenous  church.  It  then  sets  forth  the  thesis  that  socio-political  contextual  factors,  more  than  certain  theological  traditions  of  the  missionaries,  played  a  predominant  role  in  the  formation  of  early  Korean  Christologies.
