■520    ▼aThis  project  explored  how  various  kinds  of  preaching  should  be  incorporated  in  the  preaching  ministry  of  the  church  with  the  goals  of  developing  (1)  a  biblical  philosophy  of  preaching  and  preaching  planning,  and  (2)  a  process  for  creating  an  ongoing,  long-range  preaching  plan  that  helps  the  pastor  ensure  that  he  is  carrying  out  his  duty  of  preaching  the  whole  counsel  of  God  to  the  whole  church  of  God  with  the  goal  of  making  disciples.
■520    ▼aThis  project  was  conducted  by  surveying  biblical  data  on  the  nature  and  purpose  of  preaching  to  examine  what  biblical  preaching  is.  It  also  surveyed  contemporary  literature  to  explore  both  the  various  forms  of  contemporary  preaching  and  approaches  to  preaching  planning.  The  project  utilized  two  surveys.  The  first  was  a  survey  of  preaching  pastors  to  gather  data  about  their  approach  to  preaching  planning.  The  second  was  a    survey  of  this  author's  local  congregation  to  gather  data  about  how  long  they  desired  a  preaching  series  to  last.
■520    ▼aThis  project  argues  that  biblical  preaching  must  intentionally  and  accurately  incorporate  the  entire  Scripture  in  the  process  of  making  disciples  who  are  taught  and  motivated  to  full-orbed  Christian  living  by  the  entirety  of  Scripture  proclaimed  in  the  context  of  public  preaching  and  teaching.  It  argues  that  the  content  of  preaching  is  the  entire  Bible,  that  the  act  of  preaching  is  a  multi-faceted  in  light  of  the  variety  of  terms  that  Scripture  uses  to  describe  preaching,  and  that  the  purpose  of  preaching  is  to  bring  about  change  in  the    lives  of  its  hearers.  It  explores  the  issue  of  the  NT  use  of  the  OT,  and  suggests  five  theological  foundations  and  a  methodology  for  preaching  the  Old  Testament  from  a  dispensational  viewpoint.
■520    ▼aThis  project  identifies  eight  issues  that  pertain  to  the  task  of  planning.  This  project  also  develops  a  taxonomy  of  preaching  that  helps  to  intentionally  incorporate  variety  and  diversity  in  his  preaching.  Lastly,  this  project  suggests  a  process  for  preaching  planning  that  results  in  an  ongoing  preaching  calendar.
