■520    ▼aBiblical  examples  and  literature  review  of  oral  communication  reveal  that  public  speakers  and  preachers  in  particular  can  be  more  effective  when  they  analyze  and  adapt  to  the  characteristics  and  needs  of  the  congregation.  The  author  suggests  that  increasing  audience  awareness  among  Korean  preachers  and  learning  various  audience  analysis  and  adaptation  skills  can  improve  positive  responses  from  their  congregation  members.  Three  teaching  sessions  were  presented  to  three  Korean  Presbyterian  senior  pastors  on  the  topic  of  audience  analysis  and  adaptation  in  preaching.  During  these  sessions  audience  analysis  and  adaptation  on  their  respective  congregation  were  also  executed.  Two  sermon  questionnaires  were  carried  out  on  their  congregations,  one  before  the  sessions  and  one  after  in  order  to  measure  congregational  response.  As  a  result  of  this  project,  the  sermon  questionnaires  indicated  an  overall  increase  in  positive  response  from  the  congregation  for  all  three  churches.
