■520    ▼aIn  the  mission  of  the  Korean  Church,  the  denominational  mission  model  has  become  an  important  issue.  The  problem  addressed  in  this  dissertation  is  to  identify  and  describe  biblical,  theological,  historical,  and  contextual  foundations  for  mission  structures,  to  describe  and  evaluate  present  structures  of  the  four  selected  denominational  missionary  agencies  (the  PCK  [Hapdong],  the  PCK  [Tonghap],  the  KMC,  and  the  KEHC),  and  to  identify  and  compare  major  trends  in  world  missions  relating  to  the  Korean  Church  in  order  to  develop  an  appropriate  mission  model  for  the  KEHC.
■520    ▼aPart  I  is  an  overview  of  the  biblical,  theological,  and  historical  study  of  the  mission  structure.  The  results  of  this  study  confirm  that  the  mission  structure  has  biblical  precedents  and  theological  validity  as  a  part  of  the  church,  which  itself  has  three  parts:  local  congregation  structure,  training  structure,  and  mission  structure.  The  mission  structure,  historically,  has  been  a  legitimate  feature  in  the  church.  There  has  always  been  a  form  of  a  mission  structure  employed  for  sharing  the  gospel.  They  have  been  the  apostolic  missionary  band,  monastic  and  mendicant  orders,  missionary  orders,  and  mission  societies.
■520    ▼aPart  II  covers  the  world  and  Korean  contexts  for  missions.  This  research  identifies  world  mission  trends  that  should  be  taken  into  account  for  the  evaluation  and  redesigning  of  Korean  denominational  missions.  Using  R.  Winter,  H.  Mintzberg,  and  J.  R.  Clinton's  theories,  four  denominational  mission  structures  were  analyzed.  Likewise,  an  examination  of  Korean  Church  missions  analyzes  the  nature  of  the  evolution  of  organizational  structures  to  accommodate  the  introduction  of  denominational  mission  structures  in  the  1980s.  However,  the  development  of  denominational  mission  agencies  has  been  complicated  by  inefficient  organizational  structures  that  have  been  unable  to  effectively  respond  to  the  needs  of  its  missionaries  in  the  field.
■520    ▼aBased  on  the  theoretical  studies  and  research  survey  to  missionary  leaders  of  the  KEHC,  this  study  suggests  a  mission  model  with  philosophical  principles  and  guidelines  for  an  effective  mission  structure  model  in  the  KEHC  mission.  The  OMC  should  be  independent  from  the  denominational  structure.  This  study  suggests  that  it  should  be  developed  to  the  divisionalized  form  of  an  organization.
