This is supported by a study of his vocabulary. He uses both perficere and sanctificare to mean completeness, fullness, the complete expression of the Christian life. Theologically, this means the restoration of the lost likeness to God; morally, it means the enabling one to live by grace a life of fullness (which means a life of purity). The same conclusion is drawn from the study of Tertullian's use of Biblical texts on holiness.
