- 초록/해제
- 요약 : There are many different approaches to the study of Japanese religion. One could certainly take up different religious systems, such as Shinto, Buddhism, or the new religions of the period since the Second World War, and study them separately. Or one could approach the subject topically and delineate the relevance of the myths and symbols, doctrines and dogmas, or ethical systems and ecclesiastical organizations of one or more religions. In this study, however, I shall approach Japanese religion historically, not only in the sense of studying its involvement in the social and political life of the nation in the various historic periods, but also to show how the universal phenomenon called "religion" has unfolded itself in the drama of Japanese history.
